Portland’s Lloyd District is an interesting place with an interesting problem. While only about 3,000 people live there, over 5 times that many people occupy the space during the workweek.
Earlier this year, GenZe partnered with the Lloyd EcoDistrict to create the e-Bike Challenge (check out our previous blog about that here). We challenged 12 businesses to use an e-Bike instead of a car or tri-met to increase active transportation among their employees – and we’re excited to announce, the results are in!
Between the 12 companies, over 500 miles were traveled, saving around 20 gallons of gas in just one week! There were so many photos and videos of people enjoying this new and fun way to get around our city. The decision was not an easy one – even picking a top 3 was tough!
And the winner is: Orange Wall Studios. Orange Wall Studios is a design and architecture firm in the Left Bank Building. Their enthusiasm, effort, and overall approach to the challenge earned them the title, and now they have their very own GenZe e-bike!
On July 23rd, at the inaugural Plazapalooza, we announced the winner, and they drove off with a super sharp, soon-to-be coveted golden helmet and their new GenZe e-Bike.
Congratulations Orange Wall, and to everyone else who participated for a job well done!
