One of the questions we hear the most is, “How do I pick the right size e-Bike for me?” Without a doubt, the best way to see if a frame is the best size for you is to try it out for yourself, and you can by visiting a GenZe retailer. But getting to test ride an e-Bike in person before buying it isn’t necessary if you have this handy guide to help you find your perfect fit.
Use a Sizing Chart
When it comes to determining your e-Bike frame size at home, perhaps the easiest way is to consult the size chart. To use a size chart, simply remove your shoes, stand straight up, and measure yourself from the top of your head to the ground – you might want to get a friend to help. Using those measurements, consult the size chart and boom–e-Bike size achieved! We’ve included our easy-to-use GenZe size chart here to help you out.
Get Your Inseam Measurement
If you’d like to get a little more technical, another trusted way to choose an e-Bike that fits you is to measure your inseam. To do this, follow the simple steps below:
1. First, take your shoes off and stand up against the wall with your back straight and your legs about six inches apart.
2. Next, you’ll want to grab a book and put it between the top of your legs, snug against your crotch (this will mimic a bike seat.)
3. Then, with your back flush against a wall, measure from the top of the book’s spine to the ground. This is your inseam.
4. Finally, take the measurement of your inseam (in centimeters) and multiply that by 0.685 and voila! You’ve got your e-Bike size!
Consider Your Usage
Looking to get an e-Bike for two or more people to share? If you’re all the same height, then no problem, but if there’s a gap–don’t fret! Our fantastic Service Team recommends that you pick an e-Bike that will fit the shorter rider. The seat can always be raised to accommodate taller riders, so everyone wins! It is also recommended to use a step through frame when sharing with multiple riders of different heights.
