It’s hard to believe it, but winter is right around the corner. For some people, that means putting their e-Bike away until the return of spring, but for others, this means the beginning of winter commute season. To help those who will be braving the chilly weather, we’ve put together some tips on how to get your e-Bike ready for winter riding conditions.
Ride Clean With Fenders
Fenders are a must for a properly winterized e-Bike – and understandably so. With the winter road being wet and muddy, fenders keep that mud from splashing up from your tires and ending up on you. Fenders are light and easy to install, making them the ultimate winter e-Bike accessory.
Get Ready to Shine Bright
We all know that winter’s shorter days mean longer nights, and for those on two wheels, that means being seen is even more important than ever. Be sure to check your front and back lights to make sure that they’re in working order. Getting a brighter headlight for the winter is also never a bad idea.
Get Some Nice Gloves
Having cold hands is the worst. Not only are they uncomfortable, frozen hands are also slow to respond. To keep your digits in prime working order, be sure to get yourself a pair of nice, warm gloves. Your hands, and your ride, will thank you.
Show Your e-Bike Some Love
Salt, ice, mud – no one likes winter road conditions, including your e-Bike. Show your e-Bike a little extra TLC after every ride by giving it a quick wipe down. In doing this, you’ll help preserve your e-Bike by removing the corrosive build-up from your frame and parts.
Winter riding can be daunting, but we hope that these tips help you feel confident hitting the road in cold weather. No matter if you’re headed out on your 100 Series e-Bike or your 200 Series e-Bike, if you follow these tips, you’ll be all set for riding in a winter wonderland!
